Our Evolution

The 60's & 70's

Dec 1968 - Gerald Buckley & John Joe Sheehan founded Kanturk Electrical and Farm Services Ltd.

1972 -  Gerald Buckley and Paddy Buckley established Electrical and Pump Services Ltd. 

This sparked a period of growth and expansion including the relocation from Kanturk to Mallow; the development of a regional presence in the West of Ireland and in the Midlands.

The 80's

1981 - The acquisition of the water division of the Lister Group, leading to EPS becoming a leading player in the Irish water sector.

1984 - Opening of new Ballyhaunis branch.

1986 - Further expansion of our strategically located distribution centres around Ireland.

The 90's

1990 - Continued growth in the UK market with numerous contracts for water companies, including Welsh Water, Thames Water & Scottish Water.

1994 - Establishment of a new centralised distribution centre in Mallow.

1995 - The first major National Development Plan, which saw significant investment in Irish water infrastructure, leading to a period of growth.

The 00's

2000 - One of the early movers to drive the Design, Build, Operate model in Ireland for the delivery of water infrastructure.

2004 - Further growth with the acquisition of AH Cullen.

2007 - Construction of a new head office and R&D centre in Mallow.


2010 - Present

Investment in Pedrollo Distribution (UK), DPS Ltd (NI) & formation of meps in partnership with Stantec Treatment (formerly MWH Treatment) for the delivery of off-site solutions.

Completion of succession programme Generation 1 to 2 from 2009 to 2016.

Operations begin from Centre of Excellence for Design and Manufacturing in 2017.
